Have you ever had a craving for chocolate? Not a chocolate bar or chocolate cake, but just a creamy taste of smooth chocolate? That was me last week.
My husband and I just returned home from dinner at an Irish pub. We had a great sample of hearty broccoli cheddar soup and a filling prosciutto pizza. I had dessert on my mind but the only sweet menu option was a brownie, which wasn’t particularly exciting. Intentionally skipping drinks at the restaurant saved our pocket book and allowed us to make our own at home.
But I wasn’t in the mood for a fruity drink. And a straight glass of wine or amaretto wasn’t appealing either. Hmmm, how about something with chocolate? Even my typical chocolate cherry drink wasn’t hitting the spot.
In hindsight, I was being pretty picky! But I’m actually thankful because it led to an amazing discovery: hot chocolate martini.
I love frothing milk in my Vitamix Aer container. It literally doubles the amount of milk by adding so much bubbly froth. I frothed milk with a small amount of chocolate chips to create a homemade hot chocolate.
I poured the hot chocolate out of my Vitamix Aer container and into a cocktail shaker. I shook it together with creme de cacao, Irish cream, vodka, a dash of vanilla extract, and ice. Then I poured it into a fancy glass after I strained out the ice.
Oh my goodness, it was the exact antidote to my chocolate craving. Hopefully it satisfies your chocolate craving too! By the way, this was so good that I made it again. If possible, I think it was even more delicious the second time!
