There is no mistaking that kids and adults all enjoy a refreshing treat. And this watermelon slushy is the perfect, healthy treat!
Watermelon is basically water in the form of a fruit, with just a little added sugar. Toss watermelon (minus the seeds) into a blender for an incredible drink!
By adding a small amount of honey or sugar, you get the feel that this easy drink is actually a dessert. And a dash of lime juice makes your taste buds tingle as they search for the hint of a tropical flavor.
But the best part is the ice. With practically equal parts ice and watermelon, this drinks turns into a slushy. The ice is chopped up from the blender blades while the watermelon is pureed, leaving your with a drink that is best enjoyed with a spoon.
And because all of this is made in your blender, you can easily make this drink for your next dinner on the patio or afternoon with a houseful of kids.
Need to whip this up ahead of time? No worries. Follow the same directions, but pour into a freezer-safe container. Then, remove it with enough time to thaw on the counter, 30 minutes to an hour. Don’t forget that the hot weather outside can thaw a block of ice in no time, so don’t hesitate to set it in the sun for a few minutes (just keep the lid on to avoid pesky bugs).
