The raspberries help to give you a great source of vitamins and minerals and the chocolate soy milk in this recipe is the perfect solution if you want to try out a dairy-free diet.

As an added, bonus, this recipe couldn’t get any easier to make.

Prep Time: 2 minutes
Cook Time: 2 minutes
Total Time: 4 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Frozen Raspberry
  • 2 tsp ground flax seed
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 cup chocolate soy milk
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Place all the ingredients in the blender
  2. Turn on the blender
  3. Blend until all the ingredients are smooth

Notes

  • If you have a blender with Preset Settings, like a Vitamix or a Blendtec, use the one called "Smoothie"
  • Flaxseed is optional. But I highly recommend it. It gives the smoothie a nice, nutty sweetness that is ever so light and pleasant.
  • Substitution
    • No need to use cow Milk. Can replace with all Soy Milk
    • Soy Milk can be substituted with Almond Milk

While this particular smoothie is going to provide you with all of the benefits and nutrients that you would find from a typical smoothie, I can tell you without a doubt that this is going to taste better than most of the smoothies you have tried. This particular smoothie is going to taste more like a milkshake than anything else, which means not only are you going to enjoy a healthy smoothie, but you’re going to feel like you’ve eaten dessert.

As with most smoothie recipes, part of the fun is doctoring it up and adding your own flair to the recipe! Have fun with it and add in some things that you might like and think will give you a better experience overall.
