One of the best things about having a high-powered blender, like a Vitamix or Blendtec, is that it is super easy to clean. If you’ve juiced fruits and vegetables in the past, you know how difficult it is to clean a juicer, but cleaning your blender is a different story.
You should get in the habit of cleaning your blender immediately after use, or at the very least rinsing it very well. This will prevent the leftover contents from sticking to the walls of the container.
In most cases, it’s very easy to thoroughly clean it; simply fill the container about half way with warm water, add a drop or two of dish liquid, and blend on high speed for about a minute. If your particular model has a cleaning cycle, use that preprogrammed setting instead of blending on high speed. Finally, rinse out all of the soap with cold water and allow it to dry.
If you’ve used your blender to create a thicker, sticky substance, such as peanut butter or hummus, you may need to scrub the sides a bit before cleaning. It’s not recommended by most manufacturers that you put the blender in the dishwasher, but you can check your owner’s manual for more information on your particular model.
If your Vitamix or Blendtec container has developed a cloudy, white film, you can easily clean that as well. Just pour 1 cup of white vinegar into the container and fill the rest with warm water. Let the container sit for several hours or overnight, then scrub the film away using a soft, wet sponge.
Following these simple tips will help keep your blender looking as good as brand new!
