The new Vitamix 7500 is one of the latest additions to the Vitamix lineup and is the most popular G-Series (NextGen) blender in that line. Building upon the quality and innovative technology of their past blenders, Vitamix created the Vitamix 7500 and addressed a few of the problems that owners of the Vitamix 5200 complained about.
The most noticeable difference with 7500 is the redesigned, lower-profile 64 oz container. The entire unit – with the container in place – is only 17.5″ tall, a full three inches shorter than the older 5200. This makes it a lot easier to fit under your kitchen cabinet. Vitamix has also improved the sound dampening on their newest blenders, and this model is over 40% quieter than older models.

Specifications
Table of Contents
The 7500 measures up a bit differently than the other models in the Vitamix line. It is shorter, only 17.5″ tall, wider, 7.7″ wide, and deeper, 9.4″ deep. The Vitamix 7500 is also heavier than past models, 12.5 lbs, likely because of the more powerful motor. It comes equipped the same 6-foot cord as other models, which can be neatly stored by winding it beneath the motor base, which comes in one of only three colors (red, black, or white).
Are you thinking about upgrading your old Vitamix? You can get a $100 credit towards the purchase of any new Vitamix when you trade-in your old blender.
With the Vitamix 7500 you’ll receive a Simply Fresh cookbook containing hundreds of delicious recipes, a Getting Started guide and DVD containing introductory recipes and techniques to help you become familiar with the new blender, and a tamper designed to fit the new, shorter container.
The redesigned Eastman Tritan™ container
The first thing you’ll notice different about the Vitamix 7500 is the redesigned, lower-profile 64 oz container. The container is made of the same BPA-free polycarbonate as previous models but has been completely redone to make it wider and shorter, meaning it will fit under the average kitchen cabinet. The lid is a similar version of Vitamix’s easy-off 2-part vented lids. The fitted lid secures snuggly to the container to prevent leaks and has a removable twist-off center lid plug which enables you to add extra ingredients while the motor is running without making a mess.
Even though the container has been redesigned, you’ll likely still need the tamper when blending thicker mixtures to help push the ingredients down into the blades and to prevent air pockets from forming above the blades at higher speeds.
The wider container will help a bit with chopping ingredients since the larger base allows more of the ingredients to come in contact with the blade, and it also makes cleaning easier. You’ll find that most kitchen spatulas can now be used to scrape out the ingredients in the container more easily.
There are also several containers you can buy to get more use out of your Vita mix blender, such as the Vitamix Dry Container.
The Motor
The motor in the Vitamix 7500 has been upgraded so that it is more powerful than earlier Vitamix models. This blender’s motor is capable or 2.2-peak horsepower at 12 amps. This increase in horsepower means that it can now reach top speed of 270 miles per hour at full power so that ingredients are broken down more quickly.
This slow motion video by popsci.com shows just how much power a Vitamix is capable of producing. The vortex created by the blades will start to pull ingredients towards the blades almost immediately.
A lot of effort has also been put in to make the newer Vitamix blenders run more quietly. The Vitamix 7500 is nearly 40% quieter than the older Vitamix models, reportedly 7 decibels less noise at high speeds. If you’ve heard an older Vitamix before, you will be able to tell the difference. If the noise levels were what was holding you back from purchasing a Vitamix, then this model will be music to your ears.
The Controls
There have been some minor, but noticeable, improvements made to the controls of the new Vitamix 7500. This model still retains the familiar switch and dial configuration, but the high/variable toggle has been replaced with a pulse toggle.
This addition allows you to quickly pulse the blend at any speed for an added burst of power. You’ll also find this feature is very useful when chopping vegetables or making salsas. Gone are the day of flipping the power switch on and off or twisting the dial from 1 to 10.
The dial and switches are still made from the same ‘soft-touch’ rubber as the older models giving them a durable finish and solid feel.
Save $90 on a Vitamix 7500 by purchasing the Certified Reconditioned Next Generation package. Refurbished models come with a 5 year warranty and all new accessories.
Our Conclusion
The Vitamix 7500‘s increased power from the new, quieter running motor and redesigned, lower-profile container make an outstanding upgrade to the Vitamix lineup. If you’re serious about preparing food and want only the best for you and your family, this blender is worth the cost.
This blender is also guaranteed to last you seven years and will likely last many years past that. Not many other blenders on the market can make that claim.
Which one makes the best açaí and ice cream?
What is the difference between the 7500 and the vita mix culinary institute of America professional series.
That’s a great question! The Vitamix Culinary Institute of America Professional Series, also known as the Vitamix CIA Professional Series, is nearly identical to the Vitamix 5200. Which puts it in the Classic-Series of blenders. It differs slightly from the 5200 due to the included accessories, mainly 2 cookbooks. We’ve got a detailed review of it here Vitamix CIA.
The Vitamix 7500 is part of the Next-Gen Series of blenders, making it a newer model. You can find details here Vitamix 7500.
So to answer your question, “whats the difference between the 7500 and the CIA Professional Series?”, the best article can be located here Vitamix 5200 vs 7500.
One point to note, the Culinary Institute of America trains their chefs on the Vitamix CIA Pro. So even though it’s an older model, it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a lower grade model than the 7500. Used right, it’s a terrific blender.
Hi Adam, I am about to purchase the vitamix total nutrition 3 (same as pro500 and 6300)
but im also debating on getting the 7500 and the price diff is about $50 … one is $530 – $580 . and to be honest i dont mind the price diff …. i mainly make smoothie, milkshake and whole juice .. roughly 20oz (600ml) each time …. soup and ice cream, maybe once a month.
which one would be better? as a consumer we all want the newer improved machines ..
i am afraid the 7500 wont work as good since its meant for 1liter + stuff
Is this available for Europe too?
Unfortunately, I don’t believe the 7500 is available for purchase in Europe at this time. I checked several international distributors and none of them were offering the 7500 model.
It is called ‘Pro 300’ in Europe.
I have lymphoma and purchased a reconditioned 5300 in last month.
I want to return and upgrade to newest model- Vitaa Mix 7500.
How can I do that?
Are there any discounts for peiple that NEED a vitamin?
Ken Miller
The return process is very easy. Vitamix even offers a 30-day risk-free guarantee, so they’ll even pay for shipping back. The first step is going to be getting a return authorization number from customer service.
Their phone number is 1-800-848-2649. Here’s a bit of information about that process – https://www.vitamix.com/Customer-Service/Return-Policy
Once they have your 5300 back and process your refund, you can go ahead and purchase your new 7500.
Vitamix does have a program for those experiencing medical hardship, which you may qualify for. Here’s a link to some information about that program – https://www.vitamix.com/Customer-Service/Contact-Us/Donations
Hi there – comparing the 5200 to the 7500 which one makes the best soup?
Both the Vitamix 5200 and 7500 do a great job at making soup! If I had to pick a winner, I’d say that the 7500 model does a better job because of the wider base.
I live in Great Britain can you tell me is the vitamix 7500 available in the UK
Thank you
Hi Andrew, the 7500 model is not available in the UK, but the Professional Series 300 is very similar in terms of features and price.
It is… Just bought it today at Amazon UK online
Hi! I just got my reconditioned G- series and it came in Creations Elite model. And it is in red color. I checked Vitamix.com for Creations Elie and it comes only in two colors, not red. How can reconditioned be in red. I am confused.
Another question.. The first, what concerned me when I tried to use it was the lid. It gets on pretty tight, but doesn’t make a snap sound like in demo videos. And it looks like two clasps on the rubber part of a lid should come in contact with a container when the lid is put on.. In my case they don’t even touch the container. It’s just the inner circle of a lid Holds the lid in place. Is this how it is supposed to be? I can’t find any info about the lids anywhere.
Thank you! Maybe you will be able to help me.
Hi Natalie! It is likely that the red color Creations Elite is a exclusive model (perhaps for QVC only) and not offered direct from Vitamix.com. This happens quite often.
In regards to the lid, what you’re describing sounds a bit off. The clasps on the side should catch the sides of the lip on the container to keep it secure during blending. I’d recommend calling Vitamix customer support and letting them know about this issue.
Question about 32 oz wet and dry container and blades of 7500. Both wet and dry containers are same dimensions: 9.8″ tall and 32 oz. I have a dry container in the 7500 package that I bought from Costco. Can I buy wet blade and use it with dry container?
As far as I know, the container shells are the same, so it should be possible but I have not tried it.
I just bought a 5300 at Costco and then read the reviews for 7500. Placed my order for 7500 few seconds ago. 5300 goes back. BUT….my biggest concern is are there smaller wet containers for 7500? I am going to make small portions for myself and 64 ounce is way too big. 20, 32 would be great for wet and dry.
Yes, the classic style containers will work with the newer models, like the 7500. Here’s a link to the 32 ounce wet container that should be exactly what you’re looking for – 32 oz container.
Thanks for the information.
I feel like my older Vitamix liquified my smoothies much better than the newest does. I am using the same ingredients, but seem to have to continually add liquid to get it drinkable. What would you suggest. Thank you
I’ve used both the 7500 and the 5200 and haven’t noticed much difference except when making very small batches.
Since the base of the 7500 container is wider, you might just need to make a bigger batch of smoothies to get the same result.
Alice, I’m not sure I’ve seen the same results as you’re describing. Is there a specific smoothie that seems to be causing issues for you?
Since there is no longer a variable/high switch, does that mean when you put the dial to 10 it is at top seepd (ie. the same as putting a 5200 to 10 and switching to high)?
Yes, you are correct. The 10 setting on the speed dial is equivalent to the high speed on the older variable/high speed models.
This has been really informative….Thank You!
In doing a ton of research on my Vitamix 7500, I’m thinking mine was not bought brand new, as I thought, when I purchased my 7500 from QVC.
In one of the replys I read stated that, the refurbish ones come in a nicely packaged brown cardboard box stamped in large, bold black letters”Vitamix.” Thats exactly how I recieved mine. I’m pretty upset about this…I assumed i was buying a new one, not a used refurbished unit. They do not state that in any of their demos on QVC. I always wondered how the buyer could tell if they were purchasing a brand new Vitamix or a refurbished one. If I’m correct, it’s in the packaging?—The brown cardboard box? (Equals a refurbished unit) I’m a little irritated by QVC, for not being honest with their customers, for such a big investment. Could you please tell me If I am understanding that correct about the packaging. I would greatly appreciate it. I think other buyers would, also.
Thank you for your time…
The cardboard box doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re getting a refurbished model. Vitamix typically ships all models that come direct from the factory in the plain cardboard box and uses the fancier, printed boxes for models sold in stores.
The easiest way to tell if your model is refurbished is to flip it over and look at the serial number sticker on the bottom of the base. It will say “Reconditioned, Household Food Preparing Machine” like in the image below.
Hope that information is helpful!
Thank You so much Adam! Yes, I am relieved now. Mine is not a reconditioned unit. I’m one very happy girl now!
Thanks again for taking your time to respond so quickly.
Quick question, is vitamin 750 licensed for commercial use?
Unfortunately, no. None of the household Vitamix models are approved for commercial use.
If money were no object and I plan to do a lot of hard vegetable juicing (kale, beets, celery etc) AND soup making, what would you suggest? I was thinking of the 7500 but I would like to get your thoughts. Than you.
The 7500 can certainly handle lots of hard vegetables and the wider container means that you won’t need to chop them nearly as small as you would have to if you were to go with one of the classic series models.
If you plan on doing a lot of juicing, I’d recommend picking up a filtration bag to filter out some of the additional fiber if you want to do true juicing.
Thanks for the tip. I’m going for all of the fiber I can get. I’m thinking that the 7500 will pulverize the veggies and leave me with a dense vegetable smoothie, correct?
Yes, the fiber will make the smoothies quite thick, especially if you’re using lots of hard vegetables.
The filtration bag will help to thin them out if that’s what you’re looking for, but if you can handle the thickness, they will be much more filling and nutritious.
Hi,I am a new buyer of vitamix..I got 7500series..I am confused about using this machine..if it would had a preset button, then it could be easy to use..have I taken a correct decision..or I would have gone to 6300 which had pre set…or 7500 is a gud option.?where to go for 7500demo.
Go to theblenderlady.com, Google demos for the Vitamix 7500, you will find many options to view.
bought the 7500 series and have been juicing every day. Just added almonds and flaxseed to ingredients.Good way to eat fruit and veggies every day.
Hi! I’m about to purchase my 1st vitamix, and was wondering what the difference is beteen the total nutrition center and the 7500? Thanks! :)
Hi, I just got the 7500 but the 64oz container is too big. Will the 48oz or 32oz wet container fit?
Will the container on the 7500 fit the 5200?
Thank you
Bonnie
Bonnie, the container from the 7500 will fit on the 5200 base, but Vitamix does not recommend using it in that configuration.
The blades of the 7500 container are larger, require more power to turn and could cause the 5200 to overheat.
Please can you tell me whats the price for the 7500 model with dry container and also where in Ontario Canada i can buy for a good price
The Vitamix 7500 currently retails for $639 and the dry grains container sell for $195. You can purchase both of these directly from Vitamix.ca and even get free shipping when using our special promotion code – 06-008079.
Lots of great information here! Ordered a new 7500 instead of a 5200 and can’t wait to get started blending.
Thanks!
I just purchased a Vitamix 6300 at Costco, but now I am wondering if I would be better off with the professional models sold by William Sonoma or others (the 750 or 7500 models). Could you please explain what are the differences. Also, it seems that the cookbooks vary per style – any words of wisdom here? thank you. I need to make a quick decision and I cannot find comparisons between these two models.
As far as comparing the 6300 to either the Professional Series 750 or the 7500 model, the major difference is that the 6300 is a Classic Series model, while both 750 and 7500 are Next Generation models. There is a pretty thorough comparison of two of the most popular models from the different series in the 5200 vs 7500 article. The only difference between the 5200 model and the 6300 models is that the 6300 comes with the three pre-programmed settings (smoothies, hot soups, and frozen desserts). The internals and container are effectively the same.
The cookbooks of the Professional Series models contain more advanced recipes that take a bit more time and effort to make and are more targeted towards the home chef. The recipes in the other recipe books are a bit more traditional: smoothies, soups, sauces, spreads, and dips.
Hello –
What is the difference between the Vitamix 7500 and Vitamix Pro 500? Which one would you prefer that is much more quiet and mixes the drinks like a juice? Do you know why QVC doesn’t sell the 7500 any longer?
Ronda,
The Pro 500 model is a classic series blender, meaning that it uses the taller 64 ounce container and the 2 horsepower motor. The 7500, a next generation series blender, would be my recommendation since it uses the 2.2 horsepower motor and it going to be a bit quieter than the older, classic style models. Both blenders will do a great job of making juice.
As for why QVC does not sell the 7500 any long, I can’t say for sure, but it is possible that they are just out of stock.
I am new to the Vitamix family, and I am already SUCH a fan! I bought my 7500 from Whole Foods, and in week one made several juices and smoothies, two nut butters, soups, salad dressing, marinade and sorbet! If the machine weren’t great (powerful, convenient, versatile, fun!) enough already, the company makes ownership even more wonderful. When I called sheepishly to confess my huge error of leaving a teaspoon in the machine, they couldn’t have been kinder. They actually will do a one-time replacement of the container (the blades were damaged and inside scratched) and evaluation (and any rebalancing/repair) of the base. And to verify the awesome power of the machine, the motor–from all I could tell–still ran perfectly after my major screw-up. I will have to live without my beloved new kitchen friend for 1-2 weeks, but I had the chance to learn, even more clearly, how happy I am to have made this investment in such a credible, professional, friendly, dedicated company as Vitamix.
This is such an awesome story, thank you for sharing! Vitamix certainly will go out of their way to help new owners. I’m happy to hear that you’re enjoying your 7500 and making lots of delicious things!
Am seriously considering getting a 7500. Can you use the same containers, ie. 32 oz wet & dry, on the 7500 even though it is a wider base?
Yep! The connections between the bases and containers are the same on both old and new models.
Hola me gustaría saber si puede poner una jarra de la vitamix profisional del hogar en una vita prep 3 mi gusta mucho la prep 3 pero su jarra es hecha policarbonto que es toxica gracias
I have a vita mix that almost 40 years old. It is stainless steel and actually still works fantastic. But I am considering upgrading to the newer more roomier vita mix. My son bought the 6300 and said the pre-settings are not worth the price. I am struggling between the 5200 and the 7500. All opinions would be gratefully accepted. Thank you.
Hi Pat, I have an article specifically comparing the 5200 and the 7500, here.
Having used both, I definitely feel that the 7500 is a better product and the wider container makes it much easier to scrape out if you’re blending anything thick, like hummus or peanut butter.
Hi, My wife and I just bought a 7500 from a Sam’s Club demo. Incredible blender (1st time VM owner). However, our unit has an irregular defect and is going back. Upon doing research, I found the 5300 to be a very good value. Virtually the same blender and low profile features as a 7500. Tradeoffs – a bit noisier, and older style classic 5200 base. The controls on the 5300 are the same as 7500. Waiting for 5300 to arrive. Bought reconditioned 5300 for only $299 w/ 5year warranty. Saved enough to justify buying a 48 wet container too. Still came in a 100 lower than our 7500. If you like the low profile features of the 7500, you may want to consider the real value of the 5300. Same container, same controls, same motor, just mounted and in housing for sound.
Advice – if you go with low profile 64 container, buy another small 32/48 if you make single serving smoothies. Consensus with many 7500/5300 64 low profile:container users = not good with small batches.
I’m curious if the dry container fits the 6000 and 7500 vitamix
models. Thanks, Zan
Yes, great question! The dry container will fit on any Vitamix model since the connection is the same.
Awesome, I love my 7500!
I just purchased the 7500 off QVC. All of these reviews are making me so excited about my purchase. I research between the ninja, vitamix and blendtec. Then it was a toss up between vitamix and blendtec. Finally vitamix won out. I like all that I’m hearing and seeing. A man in a video showed how the vitamix was able to pulverize a avocado see! Wow wee!
I do have a question – can you use the wet for dry?
The dry container does have a few unique features that makes it better than the wet container for grinding grains and kneading dough. The blades are not as sharp as those in the wet container, which helps to create a milling effect when grinding fresh grains, and the container shape directs the ingredients in an upward motion which keeps the flours cooler while grinding.
That said, there’s certainly nothing stopping you from putting dry ingredients in the wet container.
Thanks for your reviews, etc. This is the first time I have been on your website. Can you please clarify one point on the Vitamix motors. Is the Vitamix 7500 motor also made in Sweden?
Frank, as far as I am aware, the 7500 motor is built in Sweden. Older models, like the 5000 or 4500, had motors that were built in Cleveland but all 2 horsepower motors used in the 5200 and models introduced after, have Swedish-built motors.
if i buy a vitamix from the united states, will the adaptor head of the power socket be compatible in malaysia. I live in malaysia and most eletrical appliances will use a three pin head.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like they are compatible from this Wikipedia article.
The US uses an A and B style plug, while Malaysia uses a G style. Hope that helps!
I wanted to know if we can change the adaptor head in Malaysia, can we still use the blender? How about the voltage?
That I’m not sure about. I wouldn’t recommend it, since it would likely void any warranties if you tried it.
What is the difference between the 7500 and the 750 vitamix?
The Vitamix 750 comes with the preprogrammed control settings which allow you to select a specific recipe setting, like smoothie, frozen dessert, soup, and purée recipes, then start the blender and walk away. It is programmed to adjust the speed and time for consistent results and turn off automatically.
It also comes with a different recipe cookbook, Create, which has recipes that are a bit more involved and geared towards the more professional level chef.
What is the difference between the 7500 and the Pro Series 300? It looks like the blender is the same, just different accessories. Is this correct?
Yes, these two models are basically the same except for the included cookbook and DVD. The Professional Series 300 package comes with the Create cookbook and DVD, hosted by Chef Michael Voltaggio. The 7500 is packaged with the Simply Fresh cookbook and the Getting Started DVD. The blender bases and containers are exactly the same.
So, wait, are the containers the same, or does this one have a new wider, shorter container? I was just at our local Costco, and they have a shorter container, but it turns out, it is not wider. Just smaller overall. 48 ounces. I think I need to return it.
You’re correct, even through the one sold at Costco is shorter and will likely fit under your cabinets, it is 16 ounces smaller. The container with the 7500 package is a 64 ounce container, so it is wider and more rounded than the classic design.
I traded in my 5200 before Christmas and bought a 7500 and couldn’t be happier! The wider container makes it much easier to clean out things like peanut butter and hummus.
If anyone is on the fence about which to buy, go for the 7500. You won’t be disappointed.
Hi
I am worried now I just bought the vitamix 5200, assuming it was the latest and the greets and now i see there is a later model with better blades and better jug width around the blade area, will I be happy with this 5200 model or will I regret it and always pine for the 7500?
Although the 5200 is a great machine, the 7500 is a newer model and has some great improvements. Check out this article if you’re curious what you’ll be missing out on – vitamix-5200-vs-7500
Does the 7500 come with 2 single serve blender contaainers, the DVD, & The 2 cookbooks?
Is it available @ Costco? Tall., Fl?
Does the Ninja have a 7 yr warranty like the Vitamix?
Is the 7500 Commercial grsde?
Sandra, the 7500 does not come with single serving sized blender containers. It sounds like you’re referring to the Ninja Ultima, which only comes with a 1 year warranty.
The 7500 is a commercial grade product, but it is not licensed for commercial use.
This model is out of stock on the Vitamix site, but is available through QVC for the same price, same warranty, and additional accessories. I’m skeptical… any experience purchasing this product through QVC? Is there a catch? Will it be the same quality? QVC even offers additional colors. Thoughts are appreciated!
QVC has a partnership with Vitamix. QVC is authorized by Vitamix to sell their products at a specific range. The low and of that range is what you see on QVC. The products you’ll buy from QVC are shipped directly from the Vitamix factory.
Why has Vitamix allowed QVC and other retailers to sell at prices below listed price on Vitamix.com? They won’t say. But they do confirm the partnership and that the products sold on QVC are the same.
Is it possible to buy the new container with blades and use it with a Vita Prep 3 or 5200 model?
Frank, I have asked a similar question when speaking with Vitamix before and they strongly advised against using the new container on an older blender base.
Since the blades are a full one inch wider than the older model (4″ in the new container), they require more power to turn and may cause the motor to overheat.
That said, the new container is currently not offered for sale through the Vitamix site, but you may be able to order one by calling in and speaking with customer service.
I’ve owned the same Vitamix, a 3600, for over 15 years and I finally figured it was time to upgrade. My old one still worked without any issues, aside from being a little loud, but I decided it was time.
I’m so happy that I decided to get a new one! This one is much quieter and easier to clean than my old 3600.
Looking forward to using this new one for another 15 years!!
All I can say is WOW! I am totally amazed by what this blender can do. I bought the 7500 as a replacement for my old Kitchen aid and there is no comparison, this thing is awesome!
You won’t regret spending the extra money on this thing.
I finally decided to upgrade from my 5200 to the new 7500 and I am so glad I did!!! The newer model seems quieter than my old 5200 and the shorter 64 oz container now fits under my kitchen cabinets while on the base. I’m really liking the upgraded design and it fits in perfectly in my kitchen. I’ll never give this one up and being a Vitamix, I know I won’t have to worry about it for at least another 7 years!!!
