Purchasing a Vitamix, if you live in Canada, used to be both difficult and expensive. Not long ago, many Canadians would purchase their Vitamix direct from the Vitamix.ca website or by calling customer service at 1-800-848-2649. The prices were higher and the selection much more limited than for those in the United States.
We’re glad to report that is no longer the case in 2017! Canada has many of the same models offered in the USA now. There are some models that aren’t offered, but it’s not like it used to be.
Canadian Vitamix Models
Vitamix has four series of blenders, and Vitamix Canada offers all four of them:
Vitamix Ascent Series (the newest series launched in 2017)
Vitamix Legacy Series (combined Classic Series and Next-Gen Series)
Vitamix Personal Series
Vitamix Certified Reconditioned
As of August 2017, the 11 most popular Vitamix models available in Canada are:
- Vitamix A2300
- Vitamix A2500
- Vitamix A3300
- Vitamix A3500 (Blender Reviews personal favorite!)
- Vitamix Turboblend Two Speed
- Vitamix Pro 750
- Vitamix 780 (We own this one and love it!)
- Vitamix 7500
- Vitamix Certified Reconditioned 5300
- Vitamix Certified Reconditioned Standard
- Vitamix Certified Reconditioned Standard Programs (the best reconditioned blender you can get in Canada)
Vitamix used to offer two unique models, packaged eight different ways, specifically for it’s Canadian customers. The two models were the Total Nutrition Center and the Aspire. They no longer offer these, thankfully, and have gotten away from country-specific models.
They now sell, basically, the same packages in Canada that are offered in the US. Canada just doesn’t get 100% of all the models offered in the USA, but in our opinion, they cover the most popular models so nothing is lost by living in Canada.
How to get a US Vitamix in Canada
Luckily, if you have your heart set on one of the models only available in the US, you can get the Vitamix you want and save a bit of money over the regular Canadian pricing with a little bit of work.
If you have family or a friend in the United States, or can ship to a US address, you can order any of the packages offered only in the US at the US price, which is likely a lot cheaper than what you’ll pay for a similar model if purchased directly from the Canadian Vitamix site.
While you can order by calling their 1-800 phone number, the easiest way to do this in 2017 is to use a VPN service. A VPN service will give you an IP address in the USA, and with that, it will make you look like you’re a USA based shopper.
These VPN’s easy to use and nowadays, everyone should subscribe to a service due to the dangers of hacking. I personally pay for (never use a free one) a VPN service called Private Internet Access. Service is great, it works well, and it works on not just my laptop, but all my devices like my iphone and other smart phones.
So you may be asking, why would I want a VPN service? More information can be found here, but in a nutshell, a very common tactic of stealing info is the use of free WIFI. So not just to be used to buy a blender from abroad, it should be considered a standard practice to have nowadays.
It’ll take 5 minutes to sign-up for a VPN service, get it installed, and working. Then when you go to vitamix.com, if you picked a USA based VPN location to use, then you’ll go to the USA based website. Voila!
And if you use one of the links on Blenderreviews, you’ll get free shipping to your family or friends location.
This should mean big savings over what you’ll pay for the Canadian models and even opens up the opportunity to purchase Certified Reconditioned Vitamix packages or the newer models.
Hopefully, you find this information useful and we’ve been able to help you save a bit of money on your Vitamix purchase. Feel free to leave comments about your experience in the comment section below.
