Copycat Starbucks Pink Drink

My best friend has a passion for yummy drinks. I often see her carrying around her trademark cup, usually from Starbucks or the most popular local chain in town.

Last season, her drink of choice was a frothy light pink colored drink. I kept seeing her clear cup with this pink liquid inside and had no idea what it was. One day I finally asked her for a sip. I was instantly hooked!

She went on to explain that it was a Pink Drink. I replied, “Obviously it’s pink. But what’s it called?” It’s literally called The Pink Drink, from Starbucks. (Secret: It’s not on their menu, but you can ask for it…9 times out of 10 they have the ingredients to make it!)

It’s a balanced mix of frothy coconut milk with strawberries. It’s refreshing on a warm afternoon and it’s a pick-me-up on a cold morning. Personally I’m not a fan of coffee. So when I need something more exciting than tea, this is my go-to drink! Or when I’m hungry but want something unusual, I’ll fill up on a Pink Drink.

Wait – coconut milk and strawberries? Honestly, you can hardly taste the hint of coconut. I didn’t know it had coconut in it until I looked up the ingredients. Coconut gets a bad reputation for being high in fats, but they are good fats. Research has shown that coconut milk may decrease your appetite and reduce belly fat while also boosting your metabolism.

Why not try out this pink drink as a sweet treat or rewarding snack? Trust me, you’ll be glad you did. And if you’re worried about carrying around a pink drink (*cough* fellas! *cough*) you can always put it in a coffee mug. Your obsession with Pink Drink is safe with me.

Sip on this delightfully refreshing drink! It tastes like a sweet treat but fills you up like a light snack with healthy fats.

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 1 minute
Total Time: 6 minutes

Ingredients

  • ½ cup strongly brewed tea, red zinger, passion, hibiscus, etc.
  • ½ cup coconut milk
  • ½ cup water
  • 1-2 Tbsp honey
  • 6-8 strawberries, hulled and quartered

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to Vitamix Aer blender cup. Blend on medium for 30 seconds until all ingredients are combined and the drink begins to froth.
  2. Serve in a glass full of ice. Decorate with fresh strawberries on the rim of the glass if desired.

Notes

I used Celestial Seasonings Red Zinger tea, but any kind of berry, red fruit or hibiscus tea would work well for this recipe. I recommend steeping two tea bags in the mixture!

You can use full fat or light coconut milk for this. For less fat content, modify the recipe to use ¼ cup of coconut milk and ¼ cup of coconut water and ¼ cup of water.
